Workshop: The importance of physical activity and mobility for people living with chronic diseases
The Catalan edition of the European Researcher’s Night features our Mobilisers Alicia Josa and Laura Delgado Ortiz. They will participate with a workshop about mobility in people living with chronic conditions, and they will give an overview about Mobilise-D and their PhD projects.
“The workshop aims at raising awareness of the importance of physical activity in patients with high-prevalence chronic diseases, such as Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis and COPD. The workshop will have a practical part and a theoretical part. In the practical part we will do an obstacle course in which we will teach about the characteristics of reduced mobility in chronic patients, and the possibilities of measuring it through digital tools. In the theoretical part we will summarize the experiences and give a talk on the benefits of physical activity, especially in patients with chronic diseases. We will use this talk to discuss the benefits of using portable digital technologies to measure physical activity and the role of pollution in physical activity”.
